Terms of service

Version 2.2  |  Last updated: June 2026

IMPORTANT: These Terms govern your use of the GetRecommended.io service. Please read them carefully before purchasing or using our diagnostic tool. By accessing or using our service you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms.

1. About us

GetRecommended.io is operated by Linter Pty Ltd, trading as GetRecommended.io (“we”, “us” or “our”). We provide an AI Engine Optimisation (AEO) diagnostic tool that helps businesses understand how they appear in AI-powered search engines.

Contact: hello@getrecommended.io
Governing law: New South Wales, Australia

2. Our service

We offer two levels of service:

  • Free scan— Runs 3 search queries (1 entered by you and 2 generated from your industry and location) across 3 AI engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini) in under 60 seconds.
  • Full diagnostic report— Runs 10 search queries across 6 AI engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Grok), returning 60 results. The price is set per region and shown at checkout in your local currency by default, based on your business location, with the option to select another supported currency (Australian Dollars, US Dollars, British Pounds, New Zealand Dollars or Canadian Dollars). Customers in other regions may also purchase.

The diagnostic report is generated by our platform using licensed access to AI engine outputs and publicly available business data. Reports are AI-generated and are not reviewed by a human before delivery. This is disclosed at the point of purchase.

3. Non-affiliation disclaimer

GetRecommended.io is an independent diagnostic service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google (Google AI Overview or Gemini), Perplexity AI, Anthropic (Claude), or xAI (Grok), or any of their parent or related companies.

Those names and products are used in a purely descriptive way to identify the AI search engines our tool measures. GetRecommended.io is not endorsed or supplied by any AI engine provider.

4. Disclaimer on AI recommendations

AI engines change their algorithms, training data, and responses constantly. All reports represent a point-in-time snapshot and scores are indicative only. We do not guarantee that your business will continue to be recommended by any AI engine in the future, nor do we guarantee specific business outcomes from using our tool.

AI engine responses are dynamic and may change at any time. GetRecommended.io does not control the algorithms of any third-party AI engine. All recommendations are suggestions based on our analysis and are not guarantees of specific outcomes.

5. Competitor data

Your diagnostic report may include data about competitor businesses that appear in AI recommendations. That data:

  • Is sourced exclusively from publicly available information via licensed data providers.
  • Presents neutral, sourced, point-in-time observations (for example, AI mention counts, presence or absence of digital profiles, and publicly available review aggregates). It is not a ranking or endorsement of any third party.
  • Is provided for your information only, framed as a sampled diagnostic, not a comprehensive industry survey. Counts and metrics reflect the specific queries run at the time your report was generated.

We do not access proprietary or private data of other businesses. We do not republish individual review text or personal information about business owners or staff. Any business that appears in a report may request a correction or removal by contacting hello@getrecommended.io.

6. Methodology

A full description of how the diagnostic report is built, which licensed data sources are used, and the limitations of each data point is published in our Methodology Statement at getrecommended.io/methodology. That statement forms part of these Terms.

7. Data use and aggregated insights

By using our service you grant us a licence to use data generated from your scans to create aggregated, de-identified insights and benchmarks, which we may use to develop our products and to publish research and educational content. We will not publish anything that identifies you, your business, or any individual, and we will not sell your personal data or share it with other organisations for their own purposes.

This clause does not reduce your rights under applicable privacy or consumer law. For full details on how we collect, use, store and protect your personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual property

The GetRecommended.io tool, its underlying code, design, and original content are owned by us. The reports generated for you are licensed to you for your own internal business use.

You may not resell or commercially redistribute the reports without our prior written permission. Participation in our affiliate or partner programme is governed by the separate Affiliate/Partner Terms, which take precedence over this clause to the extent of any inconsistency.

9. Limitations of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GetRecommended.io is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the tool. Our total liability for any claim related to our service is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant report.

Consumer rights savings clause: Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot be lawfully excluded under the consumer or privacy law of the country where you purchased the service, including (without limitation) the Australian Consumer Law, the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the United Kingdom Consumer Rights Act 2015, and equivalent laws in Canada and the United States. To the extent those laws apply, our liability is limited only to the extent permitted by them.

10. Refunds

We offer refunds in accordance with the consumer law applicable in your country. Because our paid reports are digital products delivered instantly upon purchase, discretionary refunds are generally only available where the scan fails to complete or the report does not deliver the data described.

Nothing in this clause limits or excludes any non-excludable rights you hold under applicable consumer law. Please review our Refund Policy for full details, including how to submit a request.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Subject to any non-excludable rights under your local consumer law, any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New South Wales. If the law of your country grants you the right to bring claims in your local courts, that right is not affected by this clause.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as our service evolves. We will notify you of material changes by updating the version number and “Last updated” date on this page. For significant changes, we will notify existing customers by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after a material change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Social share cashback offer

14.1 Overview

When you purchase a full diagnostic report and publish a qualifying post on a public platform, you may claim a cashback refund. The cashback amount is shown in your GetRecommended.io dashboard in the currency you used to purchase your report. The cashback is applied as a refund to the card used for your original purchase.

14.2 Qualifying platforms

The post must be published on a public account or profile on one of the following platforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), Threads, or Substack. Posts on private, restricted, or subscriber-only accounts do not qualify.

14.3 Post requirements

To qualify, the post must:

  • Use one of our approved post templates, available in your dashboard.
  • Include all required hashtags as specified in the template.
  • Tag GetRecommended.io’s official account on the platform where you post.
  • Include, as the first comment, a direct link to getrecommended.io.
  • Include an incentivised-content disclosure within the post body or the first comment, for example: “I received a cashback offer for sharing this.”
  • Be published on a fully public account or profile — not a private, restricted, or subscriber-only account.
  • Remain publicly accessible for a minimum of 60 days from the date you submit your claim.

14.4 How to claim

Submit your claim through your GetRecommended.io dashboard within 30 days of your report purchase date. You must provide a direct URL to the live, publicly accessible post. Screenshots are not accepted.

14.5 Verification and payment

We will verify your claim within 10 business days of submission. If all requirements are met, the cashback will be refunded to the original payment card used for that report purchase. Card refunds typically appear within 5 to 10 business days of processing. We reserve the right to decline claims that do not meet these requirements or that we reasonably suspect involve fraudulent, automated, or manipulated activity.

14.6 Restrictions

  • One cashback per report purchased. If you purchase multiple reports and submit a separate qualifying claim for each, each claim is assessed independently.
  • Cashback is issued to the original purchase card only. No alternative payment method, account credit, or cash equivalent will be provided.
  • Claims must be submitted within 30 days of the report purchase date. Late claims will not be accepted.
  • We reserve the right to withdraw or modify this offer at any time without notice, provided this does not affect a valid claim already submitted.

14.7 Our right to reshare

By submitting a cashback claim you grant GetRecommended.io a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to reshare your qualifying post on our social media channels and in our marketing materials.

14.8 Consumer rights

Nothing in this clause limits any non-excludable right you hold under applicable consumer law.
